SVA 6th Floor A nimation Department – New York, NY

The construction of this space involved the interior gut renovation of the animation department at of the School of Visual Arts. This project was part design build. It features acoustical cloud ceilings along with industry leading technology infrastructure. All existing wood flooring was protected and restored. Construction also involved an in-depth coordination of all MEP trades. There were specific design constraints due to the existing building’s structure. Furthermore, the space was newly equipped with sound booths and recording studios meeting all required STC ratings. Lastly, perimeter clear stories were installed to bring natural daylight into the department.
