This project was initially under the purview of another General Contractor, but due to performance issues, they were removed from the project. Subsequently, the New York Junior League and their design team approached Taurino for assistance in rectifying the project’s issues, which included DOB violations. They also tasked Taurino with completing the project within the specified timeframe and budget. The project itself involved renovating the rear yard of NYJL’s historic brick building, which required the install of anew emergency egress staircase at the rear of building from the first floor to the ground floor. Given the historical significance of the location and the presence of residential neighbors, the project also entailed the construction of new brick veneer walls and decorative iron stairs and railing in order to integrate appropriately with the surrounding area.
