In June of 2017, the client acquired a lease to utilize this abandoned art studio for several years as a temporary location for their Dream Charter High School. Taurino quickly mobilized and developed a scope and budget within a short, two-week period. This outline was used to develop the bid project scope, drawings, and to obtain permits to renovate 18,000 sf of open floor plan into offices, cafeteria space, and 15 classrooms. Scope included correcting existing DOB violations and installing a lift for ADA compliance.
Taurino worked closely with the new team to perform renovations, to obtain all DOB inspections for change of use within a 2-month summer period, and to obtain a TCO for school operation by September 2017.
